The Punch is available in four broad variants:

Which is the most value-for-money variant of the Punch?
The best value-for-money variant is the Accomplished range which includes both AMT and manual transmission options, as well as a CNG variant. But if you want an experience that includes features from a segment above, then look at the top-spec Creative Flagship variant that offers creature comforts like rain-sensing wipers, electronically folding mirrors, sunroof and a cooled glovebox.
What features does the Tata Punch get?
The Punch’s feature suite has been recently updated to include a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a wireless phone charger. Other features include a cooled glovebox, a single-pane sunroof, a semi-digital driver’s display, auto AC with rear vents and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
How spacious is the Tata Punch?
The Punch is quite spacious for a micro SUV. The seats are wide and supportive with plenty of leg and knee room for rear seat passengers. The cabin isn’t too wide so fitting three passengers in the rear seats will be a bit of a squeeze.
What engine and transmission options are available with the Punch?
The Punch is available with a single 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which can also be had with a CNG option.
- With petrol, it produces 88Â PS and 115Â Nm, mated either with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
- With CNG, it produces 73.5 PS and 103 Nm, mated exclusively with a manual transmission.
What’s the mileage of the Punch?
Tata claims a mileage of 20.09 kmpl for the 5-speed petrol-manual transmission and 18.8 kmpl for the AMT transmission. The claimed fuel efficiency of the CNG version has not been revealed yet.
In our real-world tests, with the petrol engine, we managed to get 13.86 kmpl in the city and 17.08 kmpl on our highway mileage tests. You can expect a mileage of 12-14 kmpl in the city and 16-18 kmpl on the highway in real-world conditions.
How safe is the Punch?
The Tata Punch was crash-tested by Global NCAP in 2021, where it scored a 5-star safety rating.
Talking about the safety features, it has 2 airbags, ABS, EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reversing camera with guidelines, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.
